Youngsters Have been Choosing Up Trash For Earth Day And Located A 22-Pound Bale Of Weed

Student volunteers participating in a post-Earth Day mangroves cleanup in Islamorada final week anticipated to obtain the usual array of bottles and cans, plastic bags, straws and the occasional shoe.

They did obtain all that. Lots of it.

They also identified a 22-pound bale of weed, according to the Adam Hoffner, an agent in charge of the Florida Keys for the U.S. Border Patrol.

The package was reportedly found by students at Coral Shores Higher College for the duration of a field trip,

Hoffner stated.

The volunteers named the Monroe County Sheriff’s Workplace, and Border Patrol agents picked up the weed.

We continue to encourage neighborhood members to quickly report any suspicious packages that they encounter to neighborhood law enforcement agencies,

Hoffner stated.
